Some skeptics on a recent History Channel program questioned the validity of the virgin birth. These skeptics are the philosophical descendants of Jesus' enemies of the First Century, who first questioned His legitimacy (John 8:19,41). If Jesus was born as any other man, His birth would not be significant. But to be born of a virgin would indicate a divine origin and paternity. The virgin birth signifies the fact that Jesus is the "Son of God."
